Daisy created the programme herself and it now reaches all 10 Premium Care Group homes, with children regularly visiting residents, forming friendships that both sides really look forward to. She has also brought activities, storytelling and companionship to residents across the group, encouraging other young people to volunteer and showing leadership well beyond her years.

Robert Adams, Managing Director at Premium Care Group, said:

“Congratulations, Daisy. This award is thoroughly deserved and everyone at Premium Care Group couldn’t be prouder.”

Community Comes Together at The Anchorage as Fundraiser Raises £854 for Age UK

June 2026

The stars of Through the Eyes of a Child played a big part in a brilliant community fundraiser during Care Home Open Week, helping to raise £854 for Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove.

Eleven-year-old Daisy led the way, organising the sponsored walk, coordinating her team and selling homemade sweetie cones on the day. She was joined by Freya, Priya, Oscar and Delilah, who arrived in fancy-dress costumes and kept residents and visitors smiling throughout the afternoon. You can read the full story and see more photographs from the event on The Anchorage website.

Premium Care Group’s Managing Director, Robert Adams, matched the amount raised through Daisy’s personal challenge, giving the final total a well-earned boost.

Daisy said…

“I am proud of what we achieved together. I just love making a difference.”

Programme Progress Recognised in the Press

January 2026

We’re proud to share that Through the Eyes of a Child has recently been recognised in the press, highlighting the programme’s growing impact across Premium Care Group. Coverage in both Press Reader and the Sussex Express recognises how the programme has evolved from a single idea at The Anchorage Care Home into a group-wide initiative now active across all 10 of our homes.

The articles recognise Daisy’s work in the care sector and the difference the programme is making. Through the Eyes of a Child encourages residents, families and staff to step into a child’s viewpoint, which often leads to closer relationships, more shared moments and a better understanding of what care feels like.

Each Premium Care Group home now has dedicated Programme Stars. These young people spend time with residents and staff, helping generate ideas that improve everyday life in meaningful ways. Those interactions bring fresh insight and often highlight simple changes that make the home feel better day to day.

We’re incredibly proud of the recognition Daisy has received, including the Saxon Weald Youth Award and her Special Recognition in Care Award, and we’re even more proud of the positive experiences being created every day through this programme.

As Through the Eyes of a Child continues to grow, we remain committed to listening carefully and nurturing intergenerational relationships, ensuring our care homes continue to be places of warmth, empathy and shared understanding.
