The Anchorage Welcomes Pulborough Community for Summer Fayre
Residents, their families and members of the local community, joined The Anchorage Care Home for its Summer Fayre, an afternoon full of entertainment, food, fundraising (and a few unexpected visitors).
The home’s gardens were busy with live singers, line dancing, glitter face painting and traditional games, while guests enjoyed a BBQ and mocktails in the sunshine.

One visitor who needed little introduction was Jimmy the Donkey, who proved popular with residents and guests, especially the children.

Gloria, a traditional-style ice cream van, also stopped by to serve ice creams to everyone throughout the afternoon, which was a lovely treat to cool down in the British heatwave.

Children from Premium Care Group’s Through the Eyes of a Child intergenerational programme were involved before the fayre even started, helping with preparations and setup. Then they spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the activities with residents and visitors.
The programme runs across all Premium Care Group’s homes and gives children and older people regular opportunities to spend time together. At The Anchorage, that meant the children could take an active role in one of the home’s biggest community events of the summer!

There were lots of familiar local faces at the fayre too. The Anchorage welcomed local PCSOs, Father Paul, neighbours and families, alongside visitors from the wider Pulborough community.
The fayre was also an opportunity to raise money for the Mary How Trust, with fundraising taking place throughout the afternoon. The team will announce the final amount raised once all donations have been counted.
Kate, Head of Marketing at Premium Care Group, said:
“It was wonderful to see The Anchorage filled with so many residents, families, children and members of our local community. Days like this are about so much more than an event, they are about bringing people together, creating friendships and making memories.
“A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to make an event like this possible, and the team at The Anchorage did a fantastic job. We are also incredibly proud of the children from our Through the Eyes of a Child programme, who came along to help and really embraced being part of the day.”
