St Marys Pupils Help Bury Time Capsule At The Anchorage
This week, pupils from St Mary’s C of E Primary School in Pulborough, led by Mrs Hatcher, enjoyed a heart-warming visit to The Anchorage Care Home for a Time Capsule event, celebrating connections across generations.

Children and residents each completed Time Capsule sheets, sharing fascinating insights into their lives, hobbies and favourite memories.

These sheets were combined with items such as a national newspaper, the Met Office weather report for Pulborough, CQC information, Carehome.co.uk details, a care home brochure, local village magazine, photographs, newsletters from the past year and a cross crafted from a Cedar tree of Lebanon.

The event was fortunate to experience some glorious autumn sunshine as the group gathered by the care home’s pond. Pupils read their stories aloud while residents shared theirs, highlighting the similarities and differences that make intergenerational connections so special. The Time Capsule was carefully buried, along with a letter to the ‘Future Finder’, sparking curiosity about who will discover it in the years to come.
