Digby The Shetland Pony Pays A Visit To The Anchorage
Residents at The Anchorage had a treat this week when Digby, a Shetland pony from The Little Hoof Company, came to visit for the afternoon.

The timing couldn’t have been better with the sun out and residents, their families and staff all gathered in the gardens to meet him. Digby’s calm, friendly temperament went down a storm with the residents and the visit continued inside as well, so that everyone got a chance to meet him and say hello.

Having Digby at The Anchorage clearly meant a lot to the residents, as there was a fair bit of laughter throughout the afternoon and the family members who joined us said it was a day they’ll always remember. It’s also a good reminder of just how much animal visits can do for the well-being of care home residents and for bringing the community together.

Our Care Home Manager, Sam Oliver, said:

“We were absolutely thrilled to welcome Digby. It was a wonderful afternoon for our residents and their families. The joy he brought to everyone was really special.”

The Anchorage would like to give a big thank you to The Little Hoof Company for making it happen, and hopefully, Digby will be back again soon.
