Residents Message - The Anchorage Care Home

Dear Paula,

Having just spent two weeks in the Anchorage, recovering from hip replacement surgery, I should like to send this ‘thank you’ note. First, I should not fail to single out Kim, my earliest contact with the Anchorage. Kim did my initial assessment and kept an eye out for me throughout my stay.

Then I want to thank the international team of carers, too numerous to name individually, with uniforms in shades of blue varying from navy to light blue. All, without exception, made me the beneficiary of their dedicated kindness.

In the same vein, I offer my thanks to all the kitchen staff, chefs, waiters and servers, whose unfailing good humour made mealtimes a pleasure.

And finally, please remember me fondly to all my daily lunch-time companions: Pauline, Ada, Jean, Sylvia, Irene and the only other male resident – Keith Robinson. I apologise to the many other elderly ladies for my inability to address them by name.

All, in some way, contributed to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, characteristic of the Anchorage.

A big thank you to all.

With fond memories,
Yours sincerely
