The Anchorage team thanked the visitors for making the trip and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to discuss future collaborations that would benefit residents, staff and the wider community.

Adding to the celebration, Mrs Hatcher, Deputy Head Teacher at St Mary’s C of E Primary School, Pulborough, attended with pupils who had contributed to the Hydration Awareness poster competition. The winning poster, designed by Zara from St Mary’s, was praised for its creativity and shared across all ten Premium Care homes, along with excellent artwork from fellow pupils Daisy, Freya and Emily.

One resident described their involvement as “just amazing, the icing on the cake.”

Residents also participated in hydration-themed activities, including tasting Jelly Drops, smoothies and fruit platters. Meanwhile, staff offered personalised hydration assessments to customise drinks and snacks according to residents’ preferences, making staying hydrated a pleasure rather than a chore.

“It’s wonderful to see residents and visitors taking hydration seriously,” said Kate, a staff member at The Anchorage. “People are stopping by, grabbing a drink and appreciating the effort to keep everyone healthy and refreshed.”

Care Manager Paula added:

“We are so proud to have been recognised in the Hydration Awareness Competition. This initiative brought our residents, staff, local children and the wider community together in a really positive way, helping us share the importance of staying hydrated.”

The recognition highlights The Anchorage’s ongoing commitment, as well as that of the wider Premium Care Group, to supporting health, wellbeing and community connection across Sussex.
