Our ethos
About Jessica Watkins…
I started my journey into care when I was sixteen years old, helping to take care of my grandparents. My passion for care grew and I soon began working for a domiciliary care agency. I found the role so rewarding that this became my full time career, and have since completed levels 2, 3 and 4 in Adult Health & Social Care, as well as The Registered Managers Award.
I have a real enthusiasm for clinical practice, as well as a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. This passion helps ensure The Anchorage is an efficient and successful care home. I get to know all of our residents on a one to one basis, supporting strong and positive relationships, so that they feel comfortable and safe with myself and the care team; they are a part of the Anchorage family. I love to bring everyone together – residents, relatives, resident’s friends, staff and our health partners.
I am committed to supporting our care team and ensuring they are able to achieve their goals and ambitions for the future. I truly believe that everyone within our home is equally integral to achieving outstanding care.

Family-Inclusion
Our dedicated carers emphasise family involvement at every stage of care. Family members are essential for enhancing the care and happiness of their loved ones, so we maintain an open, warm and welcoming environment where family connections thrive.
With regular visits and ongoing communication, we ensure families are always informed and involved in every step of their loved one’s care. This close collaboration allows us to create an incredibly supportive atmosphere where residents feel secure and families feel confident their loved ones receive the best care for their needs.
Quality of Care
The Anchorage team is the reason we can provide exceptional care. All staff members take part in extensive training, giving them the right skills and compassion needed to deliver outstanding support for our residents.
We focus on personal connections, allowing us to fully understand each resident and create a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive. Our low staff turnover means residents benefit from continuity of care with friendly, familiar faces who genuinely care about their well-being.
Social Life and Activities
Our goal is to make every day enjoyable and enriching for every resident. Our activity programs allow residents to choose their own schedule, whether it’s a lively group event like live music, art classes, quizzes or perhaps a relaxed alone time for those who prefer quieter moments.
With a busy daily schedule, including outings to local cafes, theatre trips and even holidays, we make sure there’s always something to look forward to. Our beautiful gardens provide a peaceful area for residents and their loved ones to enjoy walks and meaningful time together. Creating a lovely, inclusive environment brings happiness, purpose and a strong sense of community.
Cleanliness and Safety at The Anchorage
The safety and well-being of our residents is something we work hard to achieve, which is why we maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and security throughout our care home. Every area, from the ensuite bedrooms to communal spaces and gardens, is regularly inspected to ensure a safe, welcoming environment that’s a joy to live in.
Our team takes great care in implementing safety measures, including secure key-coded entrances and discreet support for residents who need assistance, guaranteeing peace of mind for both residents and their families.
